1Forbidden Items Categories – IATA DGR (By Hazard Class)
1. Class 1 – Explosives
o Includes fireworks, ammunition, detonators, blasting caps, etc.
o Generally forbidden on passenger aircraft.
2. Glass 2 – Gases
o Includes compressed, liquefied, or dissolved gases (e.g., propane, butane, oxygen cylinders, aerosols).
o Some are strictly forbidden; others allowed only under special packaging and labeling.
3. Class 3 – Flammable Liquids
o Examples: gasoline, alcohols, paints, solvents.
o Forbidden unless in limited quantities and proper packaging.
4. Class 4 – Flammable Solids
o Includes matches, phosphorus, magnesium, etc.
o Many are forbidden without special permits.
5. Class 5 – Oxidizing Substances and Organic Peroxides
o Examples: bleach, hydrogen peroxide, nitrates.
